Truly lipstick on a pig here!
Upon check-in the receptionist could not find my reservation. She frantically looked and looked and then as a very large group of bikers came in and it was loud and she got really frazzled. She then called her manager at home and after a couple minutes she said she’d give us a room, I had already handed her a printed copy of our reservation, luckily I had it. She gave us a room and our keys. Our room smelled of a strong urine smell and the bathroom was even worse. And there were small 3/4” inch black bugs all over the floor in the shower/toilet room. Our room was for 4 people and there were only 2 washcloths, my son went to ask for 2 more and he was told the had no more washcloths. I then went to the front desk to discuss the conditions and the reply was oh okay, I’ll tell my manager tomorrow. Seriously, no, I’m sorry, anything. Since I was prepaid through there was nothing they were going to do for me. This hotel might have had an update this past decade but it’s just lipstick on a pig. DO NOT STAY HERE if you want to feel clean.

Atmosphere was great, hotel outdated, bed horrible
The atmosphere is great lots to see but after a long drive you want to relax. The relaxation here was not great the beds were hard and not comfy. My wife got in the shower and when she got out we had zero towels. I called the front desk and she said they have plenty there's but I have to go get them because she is the only one there... Really? Yes really... so I get to the front desk and guess what she has no towels there. She points the blame to others and now leaves to get towels out of another vacant room. Meanwhile my wife is still In the room waiting for a towel after her shower. After this we went nextdoor to the so called restaurant the service was horrible the waitress took our order, brought us our food and that's was the only two times we saw her. We had to find someone else for our refills and check. Embarrassing. We would not have went back but they give you coupons for a free hot breakfast so you can't pass up free. Luckily for us the morning staff was nothing like the night help. Our waitress was awesome and the breakfast was great. So maybe service is hit or miss or maybe our pregnant waitress was just having a bad night and didn't want to be there.

Wouldn't Stay Here for FREE!!
The absolute WORST hotel experience I have ever had in 40+ years of traveling. There were fruit flies / gnats / bugs swarming in the bathroom and bathroom sink area. Upon discovering these in the middle of the night of our stay, I took photos of the sink in the morning. These are attached. The front desk clerk said it 'was unfortunate' when I showed her the photos of the bugs swarming in the sink area. There was no offer of a discount, refund.....not even an apology. I have now called SEVEN times since July 20th to speak to a manager without success. Each time the clerk says that he / she will post my name and number on the office door, yet no phone calls. Then I called and they called the property. The clerks to the representative that there is NO RECORD of a complaint!!!! DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY!!! It is bug infested and the management does not care about customer satisfaction.

Arrived late at night. The floors in the rooms were tile, and freezing cold. Gratefully there was a in wall unit for AC and Heat. Just took a bit to warm the tile up. But my 6yr old was not amused as the extremely cold tile caused her pain and discomfort and she climbed on furniture instead of touching the floors. The toilet was short, and small and round. Perfect for a child’s bum. But not a adult 😬 The beds themselves were okay. I’ve certainly been on worse. But these were probably a 4/10 for me. They were hard and you could feel the springs. I woke up often to roll over. Woke up in slight pain in the morning but was able to move about to make it go away. My daughter woke a lot and tossed and turned all night kicking me. She woke up in pain complaining of sleep and asking when we were going to be back home in good beds again. Breakfast is a joke. Seriously. They have the bagel toaster machine and defrosted eggo waffles and eggo French toast sticks you can put in it. Coffee, various juices, milk and water in pitchers to pour. Oatmeal packets neatly laid out. Bread, muffins and dry cereal. There were unripe bananas as well as apples. That was it. So we ended up carb loading like I was getting ready for a game 😂 Ultimately for $69 to have a safe place to stay, a cereal and toast based breakfast and a bed that didn’t make me wake worse than I went to bed, I was pleased. But I wouldn’t stay there again out of choice when there are better options.

Clean, Comfortable, Reasonable Rate
Great mid-range hotel! First impressions make a difference. We were made to feel welcome and allowed to check-in even though we arrived early. Staff knowledegable and helpful. Loved the vintage Route 66 decor! Impressed with our room on first glance also. It passed the sniff test as well as our routine bed bug inspection, and the bathroom absolutely sparkled. Free appetizer in bar in evening and free breakfast buffet (not "cooked-to-order") in the morning, which offered freshly prepared eggs, sausage, french toast, American fries, yogurt, fruit, OJ and coffee. The only complaint is that it should not have been so difficult to get a refill of coffee. Our waitress ignored us once she poured the first round. Everyone else was friendly and helpful. There are frequent trains that run behind the hotel, but even Mr. Light Sleeper was not bothered by them at all. No whistles! Having a room facing the courtyard helps. Try to avoid a room on the back side. The pool and courtyard were well-maintained and inviting. There is a fenced area in the back for pet play, and a fenced grassy area for kid play in the courtyard. Nice features, if you need them. We would definitely return, and recommend to friends.
