Banyan Tree Seychelles, Mahe Island
Excellent view and white sand beach
This hotel was nice. We stayed at the beachside villa and the view was excellent. The food items were not so good. Breakfast was very limited and hotel has only two restaurants.

The worst experience at the most expensive price
The worst holiday I've ever had. For $1000 a night hotel this is what we got - a filthy room, a broken window which let in hundred of mosquitos + was a safety issue and when asked to be fixed was taped up with masking tape, constant power cuts which left you waking up in the middle of the night sweating as there was no air conditioning & we had to pack in the dark when we left at 5am due to no power, the food was terrible, $20 for blended veggies for our baby daughter etc. etc. I have never been so disgusted in my life, for a hotel charging >$1000/ day this is totally unacceptable

Very poor service, disappointing experience
The hotel itself is very beautifully located. It has one of the most beautiful beaches on Mahe. Hill villas have spectacular view and they are very secluded, which makes it a real paradise for those seeking an escape from busy life. The hotel offered us early check-in which was nice. However, the staff at the banyan are completely unprepared for 5 star hotel. Lack of training, laziness and complete ignorance are very apparent in this hotel. Service is exceptionally slow and apathetic, which kills the entire banyan tree experience. I stayed in banyan tree in Maca, China at least 8 times before but you can't even compare the service there to the one in Seychelles. On our last day we ordered a buggy for 12 o'clock and taxi for 12.15pm - of course buggy did not arrive on time and a receptionist was extremely rude and neglecting. Buggy arrived at 12.30 and it turned out that our taxi had never been ordered. We complained to them, but they just said lousy sorry and still did not take any action. If I had time I would have asked for the manager of the hotel because such treatment is not acceptable even in one star hotel. Overall banyan tree is a beautiful resort, seriously lacking on service standards. If you go there, just go for the views but expect 1 star service and very, very negative attitude of the staff. It is also an overpriced place where food is not worth it's price, not to mention the service. Better choose Four Seasons for the same price but better value.

Very Good8.0
Best beach ever as well as the view
We have stayed 2 nights in the hotel. They upgraded us and arranged us many nice things. Everything was perfect except the small bags out of villa next to the pool and many ants outside which was not harmful at all. Inside the villa especially the second night some small bags were annoying us next to villa door but we have called the house keeping and asked them to clean the floor and to take care of the villa. Regarding in room dining, the food was not nice in the first night but in the second night it was delicious. The buffet next to the pool was not nice and was too expensive ( more than AED1000 for 2 person)

Loved it all! Perfectly beautiful! We stayed in the ocean view hill-view (cheapest room) and it was stunning! I'm not sure I would have even preferred a beach-side room because you wouldn't getting the view that we had. This place is so luxurious and the staff is so wonderful. I love the Banyan Tree!
