First off, our view was INCREDIBLE! We could see Diamond head and the ocean. Loved it. We stayed right near the top.
Staff were so kind and lovely!
Yes, the place is dated. Upon arrival, I was questioning my choice of hotel- I did not feel good about it (bed wasn’t too comfy, it was older, etc). However, I think I was jet lagged and tired! My husband convinced me to stay a few days, and if I am still not liking it, we will leave. We did not spend too much time at the hotel as we rented a car and toured around- we loved the island!!!
I do wish the elevator was room key controlled. Anyone could walk in.
We tried going to the pool twice, but there were kids running , splashing etc. Not very relaxing. The second time, there were questionable people there smoking and being loud, so we left. We were not really fans of Waikiki beach with all the people so luckily we had the car and were able to find secluded beaches to swim and relax. I wish we didn’t have to pay for a pool amenity when we felt we couldn’t even use it. That was a downside !!!
Other than the above, this place is recommended. We felt safe, enjoyed the daily walks to Waikiki beach and surrounding streets (lots of food trucks , evening markers etc) and ability to store food in the kitchenette. We made breakfasts and lunches (bring a mini cooler to keep sandwiches etc for your daily travels - saves soooo much $$).
In the end, recommended if you aren’t fussy on decor. Spend the money you save ♥️
