This was our second stay at this hotel. The first time was great. I really love the direct beach access. The pool was under construction our first visit, and it was nice to see it finished. It looks beautiful. Unfortunately it was way too busy to enjoy, but it was a holiday weekend after all. We waited a long time to check in, and were told the manager was checking our room and would call the number on file when it was ready. 45 minutes past check in time, we went back up to the desk and asked about our room and immediately got our keys. I’m guessing it was ready and we were just never called. After going up to our room, we noticed the carpet was SOAKED. Like they had just shampooed it. We had to keep our shoes on. We tried calling the front desk from both the room phone and our cellphones, and they never answered. Went downstairs and there was a huge line again. The carpet eventually dried in most spots. The elevators in this hotel take FOREVER. In the morning when we were leaving to check out, we waited a few minutes and an elevator finally arrived but a whole family waiting a while before us filed in with a luggage cart and there wasn’t room for us. So we waited for the next one. I kid you not, we stood there for 16 minutes, before finally taking the stairs with all of our luggage. When we got to the lobby there was a line of about 7 separate groups of people waiting by the elevators. It’s like only 1 was working. Overall, it’s a nice hotel, nice location, just annoying.
