I found the manager at check in (Veronica) to be very condescending as we had a discussion over some issues at check in. I was not aware a deposit would be charged. I've travelled the world. Most places I've stayed require a credit card to be on file in the event accessorial charged are.added to the bill. Those charges are then billed at check out. Here, a $25 per night deposit was required at check in. This is not how it's works at other properties I've stayed at. Some of those properties were Hiltons I might add. Her reoly was "This isn't the only property I've managed....and this is how it's always done". My response to travelocity and Hilton is, as stated before, is that this isn't the only place I've stayed. Again, I've travelled the world. And this most certainly is not the way it's always done. She then suggested I join Hilton Hoinors Rewarda program. When I told her I was already a member, she made a back handed remark about how she sees I am a Blue level member....the lowest level of the program. I bit my tongue and inquired about whether or not her records indicated whether or not breakfast came with our booking. She said it didn't. But the package we selected from Travelocity clearly stated the option we selected DID include breakfast. She was irritated or inconvenienced by the fact we'd booked the room through Travelocity instead of Hilton. I said I just wanted what I'd paid for. I had to ask twice for the Cust Service number. There's more if you're interested.

Big disappointment
The hotel was nice and I was excited that there was on site bar and restaurant. Unfortunately my experience at the restaurant was not good at all! We started out well enough, the bartenders were pleasant and recommended a HH special steak. I substituted sautéed mushrooms for the fries at a $2 upcharge. While eating I found three pieces of white plastic in the mushrooms. The bartender discounted the food item and I took a piece of carrot cake back to my room for dessert later. When I had consumed a few bite ,I found a piece of clear plastic in the cake. The room phone would not dial out so I used my cell to try to contact the restaurant. I was told the manager would get right back to me. He did not. I called again and was offered an apology but nothing else. I had to explain to him that I should not be charged for the cake since it had foreign matter in it. He said he would credit back my card but hasn't as of yet. The next morning there was no hot water so I took a cold shower. Upon checking out and informing the front desk staff, I got a weak apology. The couple checking out next to me, also from the third floor got the same response. REALLY? a hotel with no hot water to shower? NOT a good overall experience, especially for the price.

This is the worst Hilton I've ever stayed in, don't waste your money. If I could give no stars I would. We stayed 2 nights. Arrived late with a King bed reservation. Was given a double queen, we were really tired and fir some reason the elevator was slow (noticed later 1 of the 2 elevators was not working) so we decided not to back to the front desk and change the room. While sleeponv we were woken up by the cleaning crew, and noticed the whole wing of the 4th floor was being cleaned... It was after midnight, the crew of 5 or so people were laughing and cutting up in the hallway which woke us a couple of times. The next day, the 2nd elevator broke and everyone was forced to use the stairs. Also the AC in the elevators and stairs were out. Also we had an employee randomly knock on our door, turned out it was room service and they had the wrong room. They asked if we needed anything and we asked for more coffee. She returned with decaf and tea.. Wtf? When checking out my wife waited in line for probably 10 mins or more. She was next person getting helped. I literally rolled bags to the car, put bags in and drove to the pick up area and she was still there, they had 2 people working the front desk and 2 customers there. I just walked in and said 401 checked out and left frustrated. This is the worst Hilton I've ever stayed in, don't waste your money.

larceny is free
The property is in a reasonable suburb Kansas City. The property is acceptable in terms of location, cleanliness. Unfortunately this is all that I can say was good about the stay. Check in was a bit long due to a very busy front desk. The roll away bed I requested with my reservation was not available. As a result my son had to sleep on the floor. I requested bed linens for him, it took over an hour and conversations with three staff members to get more than a mattress pad! There was no reasonable hot food served at the hotel after 9 pm, so my husband had to run out to a local fast food joint to find something to eat. Overnight, the Uhaul truck that we had driven, which had a lock on the rear compartment was broken into. I called the Independence police to file a report. The police officer responding to the call told me that the local police department had responded to this property "20 times in the prior week for similar larceny events and that the hotel management refuses to install security cameras and hire security officers for the parking lots'. I expect better from a Hilton property.

Sad Experience
Booked three rooms for the weekend. Local advertising and publicized events at this facility made it seem like the ideal choice for our out-of-town guests. I couldn't have been more disappointed in what I experienced. Front desk staff member was coughing and sneezing into her hands, and then handling key cards. We were met with an extremely foul odor similar to raw sewage when exiting the elevator on our floor. TV and phone did not work in one room. AC unit was leaking an unknown fluid on the carpet during the overnight in another room soaking clothing that was near-by. None of the wall AC controls worked in any room we had. Staff member did fix TV which was greatly appreciated, however the remedy for the other problems was to move all 3 rooms to various other locations which wasn't an option due to elderly family members and a young child. Lastly, upon check-out, 2 rooms were booked under a stranger's name - no one we had heard of. I'm watching my credit card to see if it was linked to another reservation as well.
