Eh, not sure I can recommend this place
Welcoming and helpful staff. Pretty property in CBD with cafe attached and walking distance to anything else you need. We stayed in a room with one window with a drape we could not close. I know beds are very subjective, so while it was clean and sizeable, it was perhaps the most uncomfortable bed I have ever tried to sleep in because it felt like a pile of dense comforters. It needs to be updated! The shower/tub was quite deep and no grab bar provided to step into the tub- difficult for a short person. Our hotel was on a corner that attracted its share of local crazies. We did not like that either, but they can be found all over the CBD apparently. Laundry is available on site, along with a small clean pool and a filthy jacuzzi tub, as well as a fitness center.

You can't do any better!!!
I really enjoyed my stay. It's in a central location, close to everything. There is an amazing breakfast place right around the corner, restaurants, shopping, public transportation, everything!! Loved it!

Perfect Location for Exploring Adelaide
The Hotel Grand Chancellor on Currie was the perfect location for exploring Adelaide. It's situated right in the CBD, walking distance to the museums and botanical gardens, and with easy access to the public transportation to get to the beaches and elsewhere nearby. The room was very clean. The hotel itself could use a bit of freshening up -- looks like it hasn't been renovated in a while and the decor is dated, but I go for cleanliness over "modernized" any day, and it was very clean and comfortable! the front desk staff was very welcoming and helpful. I arrived a couple of hours before standard check-in time, after more than 30 hours of travel, and they were very accommodating and found a way to get me into my room early. I very much appreciated that!

Adelaide's little gem!
Desk will order cabs, help with restaurant recommendations, give information on medical services/hospitals in the area. A terrific find at very reasonable rates. Bean Bar next door is great for weekday coffee and breakfast.

Not really value for money.
The hotel was very comfortable, however although it shows a bit of grandeur, it is extremely dated and the air conditioning was insufficient. It was controlled by Reception and we could not make it comfortable for us.
