About Mercure Bristol Brigstow Hotel, Bristol

Elegant, modern waterside hotel close to Bristol Old Vic

On the waterfront

Mercure Bristol Brigstow Hotel is on the waterfront of the historic Floating Harbour, 5 minutes' walk from the center and Temple Meads station. The acclaimed Bristol Old Vic theater is just around the corner, as are the unique boutiques and stalls of Georgian St. Nicholas Market.

Brunel and Banksy

Two icons of the great Victorian engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel are here - his iron ship Great Britain and, 10 minutes' drive way, the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Lively cultural complex M Shed is a 10-minute walk, and you'll spot works all round the city by local hero Banksy.

Destination dining

Ellipse restaurant and lounge bar make the most of their location with huge curved windows looking out onto all the waterside and harbor action. As well as modern regional cuisine, you can enjoy anything from a leisurely breakfast, to High Tea, to a late-night cocktail.

Spacious with free WiFi

All 116 rooms are generously sized and furnished in warm tones of burnished wood and jewel colors, and many have views over the Floating Harbour or the city skyline. All come with free WiFi and flat-screen TVs plus MP3 connectivity, and Superior rooms offer a Nespresso® machine.

Beware that the classic rooms all overlook the parking lot. The lights flickered and a light fixture was dangling from the ceiling. The woman was clean though and the staff is very helpful.

There is Better and Cheaper Nearby
The "courtyard view" was of trash bins and parking lots. Had I known it was so miserable I would have paid extra for the river view. Didn't appreciate the charge on my credit care "in case" I wanted room service. The room was hot and they don't have air conditioning in the winter, so they give you a small desk fan to wedge in the window to cool your room. Too much bother for too much money.
