The Happiest Hotel on the Island!
The Pelican Bay Hotel lives up to it's tag line "Happiest Hotel" in GB. Evan though the Island is still rebuilding after the hurricanes. The Grand Bahamians are so postive and have such a loving spirit. I definitely will be bringing my tourist dollars back there for Christmas. Fav bartenders VanDyke and Glenese D. In fact she has a signature Drink Must Have. Tell them both "Lady Di" sent you!

Overall it is a nice hotel. Main disappointment for the price is the room, really old, needed a renovation, and the beds with the uncomfortable mattresses. Overall clean. The other critique would be about the fact that when checking in we were explained nothing about the access to the Taino beach, the free ferry to the beach and the breakfast at the fourth floor. We just figured that out our own, but it would have been nice if told since the beginning.

The resort was fabulous - except the breakfast - not much variety and some mornings the food was cold.

Needs Improvment.
When I first arrived I stood at the front desk waiting for someone to help. A local person came in and the front desk lady started helping her out but stopped halfway through and asked if I needed help. Then she checked me in. I then found the room looked fine a bit old but still fine. Air conditioner was load but I snore so that may help the neighbors. Next morning took a shower nothing but cold water tried everything went ahead and finished the shower. Knowing I was there just two days for business I didn't want to complain. The next morning I wanted too :-) Also I was there over Valentines day and wanted to eat at the property. Went to the restaurant and they said do you have an reservations I said no I'm a guest. Even thought there was a lot of tables open she said no could not help. Had to eat off property.
