10/10 Exceptional

6/10 Good

Very disappointed with my one night stay. Obviously, the hotel and its venue is superb. However, I had to have breakfast in my room which I don’t like. There was no restaurant open. The bar shuts at 9pm Hardly saw any other guests whilst I was there though I imagine it’s busy when a wedding takes place as it’s more of a wedding venue There is hardly anything around the hotel. No shops but it is close to the train station

Charming historic boutique hotel. Not inexpensive, but also not over the too expensive.

2/10 Poor

Very disappointed. The front desk staff were very rude, room service was not available until 6:00 pm and when I did order breakfast it was 35 minutes late. Housekeeping was almost nonexistent and a food order was delivered incomplete. Unfortunate how the hotel and restaurant do not communicate because they are two different companies. Bed was hard and uncomfortable.

10/10 Exceptional

The hotel dates from 2000 but the property goes back to 1917 and they have done a nice job of blending the new hotel with the older restaurant, event center and chapel. Being there out-of-season and in particular out-of-wedding-season was perfect for us - the hotel was very quiet as it is set in a large park that runs along the Humber River for which there are a number of heritage walks. We had a great view out of our window out towards the lake. The subway station is near enough to walk easily (20 minutes to Yorkville) and far enough that the noise doesn't bother you even with the windows open. We also had high tea at the restaurant which was OK but you would be disappointed if you are accustomed to full formal English high teas. The parking is free but it is in a very tight underground garage in an adjacent building (thankfully our Altima fit well into the spaces). Nearby Baby Point Jane Street is great for shopping - we got coffee at Golden Gecko and flowers at Jane Florist.

Hidden gem - Love it! Their lobby bar was fantastic and the grounds were busy with landscapers - summer will be beautiful there!

Lovely elegant spot that is small enough that the staff remembers you. Outstanding service. The area around the hotel is beautiful. We spent a day birdwatching along the river, which is across the street. Thanks so much for a lovely weekend!
