A fantastic period country house hotel.
A fantastic period country house hotel. Really nice rooms, good facilities (coffee, biscuits, water in room). Lovely breakfast (did not stay in for other meals).

Lovely, but a few snags...
Great service with friendly staff Lovely breakfast - food, service and room Great surroundings Just a few issues: - room was too hot - room was a disabled room and so the bath wasn’t comfortable for non-disabled person - pillows too soft (I had 3 and still not firm enough) - in check-in, I wasn’t asked about putting charges on my room, this AFTER ordering drinks at the bar, I had to go back to reception to get that activated - elements of the hotel looked a bit tired

Very Good 8.0
Lovely winter weekend
The hotel is absolutely beautiful and my party were very impressed with my choice in making the reservation. The service was good and the rooms were lovely. The only downside was that there was a hunt ball happening on the same night and unfortunately the loud noise of music and drum beats carried on until midnight and could be heard in our rooms both on the first and second floors. Coupled with this were drunken guests returning to their rooms and carrying on loud conversations until well into the small hours. Whilst it was a party and we were only staying for one night, it seemed petty to complain, however it was something worth mentioning to reception to think about in future when allocating rooms to guests that are entirely unconnected to an event, it would be better to locate them as far from the ballroom as possible and give the closer rooms to those who are attending the event. This wouldn't put me off from returning, I would just know to ask for a room as far away from the ballroom as possible. Dinner in the Bistro was excellent. Another person in my party had a manicure in the spa and very much enjoyed it and would recommend. There was also the Christmsa Fayre on Sunday whilst we were there and this was excellent. The hotel wsa dressed for Christmas and looked fabulous. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely hotel yet staff not helpful
Lovely room and the best veggie burger I have ever had. However totally ignored by staff in the lounge even when they were serving other guests. Stood at the bar for a long while waiting to be served yet there was no bar staff, so gave up and went to my room and ordered room service.
