For international travels from Brazil, if just one of the parents is traveling with the child, she/he must present – in addition to the child's certificate of birth and identity card with photo – a letter authorizing the trip signed by the other parent with a notarial certification of signature. In case the parents or the legal guardian, as applicable, cannot or are unwilling to give this authorization, a judicial authorization is required. People who intend to travel to Brazil with children must consult with the Brazilian consulate before traveling for more information.

Nice hotel with friendly staff
First time in rio the staff was so welcoming and extremely helpful. Great breakfast my only issue was the room that I got (205) extremely thin walls in the bathroom I could hear clear conversations in the room next to me and the phone ringing downstairs. I’ll give them a second chance.

Lovely Hotel on Copacabana Beach
We love the Olinda Hotel - excellent location facing Copacabana Beach, helpful front desk staff, and Old World charm in a New World setting. We also enjoyed the daily buffet breakfast included with our room rate.

Nice hotel in a superb location, good facilities, good breakfast food but short on toiletries. Our maid gave us only one shampoo for two people, although we stayed in a DeLux room and paid close to $400 a night for this room during the carnival days. After I complained to the management about it, she started giving us ... nothing! So every time we needed a shampoo, I'd have to call the front desk for assistance. So if you are going to stay in this hotel, make sure you bring your own toiletries. The rest was all good.

Great Ocean View
Great place and location to stay with an ocean view but you will not be happy there if you are single. But great family and couple environment.

Good Value, Great Staff and Location!
Olinda Hotel is an excellent value. The rooms are quite nice and the staff extraordinarily friendly and helpful. I can't say enough good things about them. The location is fabulous. There currently is a leak in the lobby ceiling that is somewhat unsightly but there is a lot of construction activity to correct it that actually involves work on several floors. This hotel was clearly a top tier establishment in its day that has been well updated, so if you appreciate the charm of older style architecture you will enjoy staying at this hotel. The only negative aspect is that while once you are logged in to the WiFi you stay connected you randomly periodically get disconnected from the internet with no sort of notice, so if you are counting on the WiFi to receive messages etc. it is quite unreliable because you are connected to their WiFi but not to the internet. The only way to know about this condition is to continually check your settings and log into the internet multiple times each day which is kind of a pain.
