Hotel Mennini, Milan
Not a good experience
It was a very disappointing experience due to the lack of transparency in business and rudeness of the staff that was at the reception on arrival (one particular person we had issues with). I booked for 2 adults and a 1.5 years old baby and I was allocated a double room; when we arrived I asked if I could have a baby cot (which I had had in the 2 previous hotels I stayed in Italy) and the gentleman at the reception very rudely started arguing that if I booked for double I wouldn't have more than a double bed; even when I tried to explain that the search engine gave me options that could fit the 2 adults + 1 baby he said that I could have even put 20 adults but if I chose double room I wouldn't get 20 beds. After a long discussion where he didn't want to listen but to himself he said I should have booked triple room and that if I wanted the cot to be added I had to pay 20 Euro per night on top. The hotel is in addition very small and the breakfast is very poor, the only good thing about it is the location.

We stayed for 3 days and our room had no air conditioning. They gave us a fan but can't open windows due to mosquitoes. No sleep on our first night here- too hot in the room! They said someone will fix the a/c but no one did.

No More Mennini
We have stayed at the Mennini many times but this will be our last stay. The room we stayed in had an old window air conditioner that was totally inadequate to cool the room on a hot day in Milan. It has an on/off switch but no knobs to adjust the temperature. It was also very noisy. There was also a fan in the room, so the management clearly knows that the air conditioner is inadequate. This was not the first time we have had problems with the air conditioning at the Mennini but never anything this bad. We have decided never again to say there - at least in the summer.

Very Good8.0
Great hotel, excellent breakfast, Retro feel.
Great hotel, excellent breakfast, Retro feel. Small and reasonable, so don't expect big hotel perks and space. Rooms have been rehab'ed but still have a retro feel. Staff is extremely nice and helpful. I had a small, clean, comfortable single with a bath, great view and of course the location could not be better. Away from the train station noise and tight streets, but very close to walk to Centrale.
