Stay anywhere else!!
I don't know where to begin; to start, the hotel is very dated, and the website pictures are misleading. The hallways smell very strongly of cigarette smoke, alcohol, and sweat and don't look like they've had any updates done to them since the 70's--they reminded me of something from the series "American Horror Story". Our room had an odd odor to it; surprisingly though it had updated hardwood flooring. My guess is that this was done so the floors wouldn't have to be cleaned as often as carpeting because they clearly were filthy. How this Econolodge continues to be a dump can only be blamed on poor management. The man who checked us in was very nice and professional, but that doesn't compensate for repulsiveness of the facility. I didn't feel safe here either; there was a party in the parking lot after dark with some rather rough looking people who were very loud. How a place so awful can remain in business in such a beautiful city is beyond my understanding. If you're able, stay away from this place--do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else.

When we arrived there were 3 groups ahead of us needing to check in and there was a sign at the front desk that stated the staff would be right back. The others stated that they had been waiting 10 minutes when we arrived and no staff had been to the front desk. We waited 15 minutes and 4 additional groups had also arrived to check in. I called the corporate phone number that one of the other guests looked up. The man at corporate took the information and stated he would look into the situation and asked me to hold. I was on the phone for 6 minutes and a woman walked from in the hotel and stated she was the only one working and she was taking care of a water leak. The woman did apologize and started to check guests in. By the time we got our room keys we had been there for an hour. A friend from our group got his room keys and went to his room. Would not recommend!!
We had called ahead and asked for an early check-in and were told they could not accommodate our request doing to being short-staffed and having a large group of hockey players being in the building. We were promised a normal check-in time of 3pm. We arrived then and the room was still not ready. They had stated to return at 4pm but that didn’t work for our schedule as we had a wedding to be at by 4:30. Thankfully our family that lives in town was able to let us come over and freshen up before the wedding. We finally were able to check in at 11pm. We had to wait an additional 15 mins as the front desk staff was away. The room was ok. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the a/c in the room was already on but was not able to be adjusted. Would not recommend at all. We only stayed here because it was literally the last hotel room available for the weekend we needed it.

Got to our room the other bed wasn't made had to fix the cable for the TV in order to watch TV the whole hotel smelled musty and wasn't to pleasing wish I could get some of my money back no screen on my window could smell drugs inside of the building

Better then expected
The staff was very nice. The breakfast was surprisingly stocked and well attended to. Everything was clean. I slept very well. I will be looking into buying similar pillows. Bed was firm though as you’d expect. It is an old hotel and run down. It worked fine for our trip that had us gone a lot :)
