Perfect for Party of Five
We were traveling for a sporting event. Accommodations were perfect for our group of 5. Having two bathrooms was especially nice. The kitchen and dining table were an added bonus as we stopped at Costco in Kona after landing to buy food for breakfast and lunch to help us save cost for meals! Recommend Paniolo Greens for families and larger parties for sure.

Big Island Still Open for Business or Pleasure
We arrived on the Big Island the night they closed Volcano National Park. We had planned a number of activities that were entirely unaffected by the currently underway (May 2018) eruption of Kilauea, including an excellent Mauna Kea Summit Adventures tour and the Waipio Valley Shuttle. Paniolo Greens is well located for both these tours and they were distant from the eruption. We would not hesitate to go to the island now as long as you are not planning to see the National Park. (Even stopping along the road through the edge of the park is forbidden, as I found out when I did so to the tune of a $130 fine -- closed means closed.) We had only one day out of the week when the trade winds were not blowing the volcanic ash and VOG (volcanic smog) away from the island and out to sea. We flew into Kona which is convenient to Paniolo Greens. If you are arriving after hours they will make arrangements for you to get the key from night security. Make sure they have the air conditioning on or get the key for it as this needed to be turned on with a separate key when we arrived.

Home run
A change of plans in our vacation forced us to find a place to stay for three extra nights on the big island. Paniolo Greens was rated very high on Trip Adviser so we gave it shot. We were extremely happy with the staff, accommodations, facilities, and golf course. Very low key and family oriented. Just around the corner was a large grocery store so we grilled out two of our night. We ate at Pueos Osteria (right next to the grocery store) and it was one of the best Italian meals I've ever had. Can't say enough good things about this place.
