Charming historic hotel. Very nice breakfast included each morning. Walking distance to some fun places downtown. Close enough to campus with a short Lyft. Will come back for sure, just hope they fixed shower leak by then :)

Stay was fine. Room was dark (especially the bathroom). I was told that is the second phase of upgrade coming. Only other comments- small roll of toilet paper with no backup in the room and only one small garbage can in the room which was in the bathroom.

All things change
Sad. We've stayed there annually since 2008; no longer a lovely experience.......Bought out by Best Western almost a year ago. Although same longstanding manager is present, it no longer seems managed well. There was no caffeinated coffee for in-room Kuerig for two days.Supply issue or poor planning? Parts of room very dark. Not enough towel racks in bathroom. Very obtuse thermostat, not intuitive to run. Staff member (2 days in a row) seemed to enjoy the game of not helping with this issue: told me twice that she'd send someone up to instruct me=never did. On second day she told me the guy just went to lunch. She had snippy, not helpful answers when I asked when he'd be back, etc. So we stuck around to meet the person who would help us lower the room temp. on two very hot days,,,,,,he never showed. She told us she knew nothing re: the interior of the rooms. We were fortunate enough to catch a different desk clerk during evening of our third night. When asked, she was happy to show us how the thermostat worked by demonstrating on the lobby wall thermostat. Parking lot has always been very skimpy, but now skimpier because you see staff parking there so their cigarette breaks are easier. Perhaps all this could be due to post-Pandemic blues.....
