Great stay.
I unfortunately stayed only one night. Wish I was there longer. This was a great location with beautiful views. The Breakfast buffet had amazing fried rice.

Royal Kona - very comfortable
This is an older hotel set right on the shore of the Pacific Ocean. So don't expect multiple outlets for all your devices. But it's comfortable, clean and walkable to many shops. The concierge was great for giving us tips on what to do. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Our room was on the seventh floor with an ocean view. We had a veranda with two chairs and a table. My brother checked in to a corner suite which had phenomenal views of the ocean and a sitting area. His veranda was a wraparound. They did charge you $9.95 a day for wi-fi which is a way of nickel and diming you! Aw come on!

Perfect views and location, disappointing rooms
The main areas are wonderful. Perfect views. Nice pool and lagoon area. Pretty lobby and bar area. However, the rooms need updating. We were here on a girls trip and the room was all we needed— clean, had a mini fridge, and AC worked great. But if we had been here wanting a more glamorous vacation we would have been disappointed by the rooms that are certainly old and worn and not that nice. The best thing about the hotel is the location!! Right in the thick of things and extremely easy walking to bars, restaurants, and shops (love that it’s across from an ABC Store!) The food is mediocre (we had dinner and breakfast buffet.) The spa is HORRID, so NOT go!!! Overall, we’re happy we stayed here for the location and views alone. (And price!!)

Nice but dated
The room was a bit dated with old carpets and old bathroom fixtures. Tub and tile stained, but clean enough. Great oceanfront view and luau was wonderful
