Would definitely stay again.
The hotel like many in London is old but very well maintained. We had a cute room for 3 and it was fine. The breakfast was outstanding given I had 2 young adults who are tricky eaters. Staff was very helpful LOVE location. So easy to get to the tube.

Would not stay in the hotel again
The area is pretty good, but the rool was not that clean and the WiFi was very weak.

Affordable, clean option in great neighborhood
I booked this hotel, then came across a few negative reviews. I almost tried to change my booking, but I'm glad I didn't. All of the staff were VERY friendly, advising me on where to eat, booking a cab for me, and other niceties. The room itself was very tiny (I am a solo traveler) and the building is old, but I felt that it was clean, and I am grossed out pretty easily, so that's something. There is a safe in each closet for valuables. Pros: affordable option for the area, clean, good neighborhood, right near the Tube, walking distance to lots of sights and conveniences, nice staff, pretty views of the square from some rooms. Cons: toilet has old plumbing and had trouble flushing a normal amount of toilet tissue, then takes a long time for tank to refill (but that's what you get in old buildings); internet unreliable in the evening; thin walls Suggestions: add sheer curtains on windows so guests can have fresh air and privacy at the same time, add another shelf to the small bathroom, recaulking the base of the shower stall will go a long way cosmetically (though it was clean) Did not have breakfast here so can't comment on that. Glad I stayed here. I would definitely book this hotel again. (Wanted to add photos - I appreciate guest photos - but they're not uploading.)

Great place to stay & very friendly, helpful staff
We really enjoyed our stay at The Garden View and they were very friendly and helpful. After we checked out they offered to hold our bags for us so we didn't have to haul them around London on our last day.

The location was wonderful! The staff was very nice. The hotel was very dated. The bed were weird and not very comfortable. The rooms weren't dirty, per set, they were just not clean, with a layer of dust on the surfaces. Our bathroom door didn't close all the way, and the shower curtain had no liner and was not weighted, so water spray got everywhere, despite our best efforts to keep it contained. I did not see any climate controls in the room, so I would imagine the room would get a little stuffy in the summer, as there are no screens on the windows, so I wouldn't want to open them to the bugs! But the location was great. A quiet neighborhood, but within walking distance to the Baron's Court station on the District Line. You do have to give the front desk your key every time you go out, which was a new experience for me. We booked a double bed, not sure why they gave us a room with three twin beds.
