Hotel Features.
Called The Scotsman Hotel because it once housed the Victorian offices of The Scotsman newspaper, this majestic building was restored and converted to a boutique hotel in 2001. Original period features blend with contemporary art and furniture in the oak-paneled lobby to provide guests with a grand welcome. North Bridge Brasserie serves regional cuisine and is known for its marble pillars and wood paneling complemented by a dramatic steel floor and staircase. Free WiFi is also available to guests.

The Scotsman Hotel's 69 guestrooms combine modern, neutral tones with tweed fabrics. Serving hatches mean that room service need not disturb guests. Rooms have climate control, free WiFi, minibars, safes, tea/coffee making facilities, and coffee tables with inset Edinburgh Monopoly boards.

Perfect location, excellent room. We were discouraged from eating at the restaurant by lots of negative reviews, so can’t really comment on it.

The hotel is beautiful and historic but along with historic, things showed their age. Our TV did not work and the toilet had a mind of its own and rattled all night. All that said, the staff is incredible, the view was amazing, and we had a wonderful stay.
