Friendly staff, but housekeeping not so great
Staff was fabulous. We have stayed at other Novotel properties and been very satisfied. This one has some plumbing problems (3 of 4 rooms we stayed in as group of 5 over two separate weekends) and every room had things left behind from other guests (socks, balloons, toothpaste, etc.) behind furniture or curtains. Dusty, dirty corners and tea trays. Not nearly as clean as the Novotel in Edinburgh. Would still stay again, though.

The hotel was modern and looked very nice. The staff we encountered were helpful and polite. We were slightly frustrated when we arrived and were told our room wasn't ready, especially since it was 15mins after the check-in time. We were told they would have it cleaned right away and it would be ready in 30mins. We went for an hour long walk, then came back because a heavy rain started. Our room still wasn't ready, but luckily they had another we could use. Other than that we had a pleasant stay.

Nice accomodations. Comfortable and clean. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast, nice variety. Fitness center was nice. Rooms were typical smaller size for European hotel but we're fine for the three of us. Nice location for walking around Glasgow.

Excellent location
Excellent location for us — midway between the city centre and Glasgow University. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The shower area needed to be re-grouted, but it wasn't horrible. Breakfast was incredibly expensive. Please provide a reasonably priced alternative -- some of us simply want a small breakfast to "break the fast," not a huge buffet.

Nice hotel overall but rooms are basic.
This hotel was in a good location and within 5 minute walk of shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel staff were very good and we were given a free upgrade to a superior room however the room was actually very basic and was quite tatty looking. I think the only difference between this room and a standard room was the mini bar but this only consisted of small plastic bottles of water and at £2.50 each was quite expensive. We had stayed in a premier inn the previous two nights and this room was not a patch on a premier inn in terms of finishes or comfort. The one saving grace was the breakfast. This was outstanding as were the restaurant staff. Loved the little individual pots of jam and marmalade and being an exiled Scotsman the black pudding and tattie scones with the cooked breakfast made my day!
