About Arc la Rambla, Barcelona

Relaxed hotel with terrace for city breaks on La Rambla

4 minutes to metro

Located directly on La Rambla, Barcelona's famous boulevard, Arc la Rambla is also 4 minutes' walk from Drassanes Metro Station. Just 6 minutes' stroll up the street is Mercado de la Boqueria, one of the city's bustling covered market halls and a favorite with visitors.

Cathedrals and museums

Ten minutes' walk places you outside Barcelona Cathedral, famous for its neo-Gothic facade and striking gargoyles. It's only a 4-minute walk to the waterfront, where you can enjoy the sunshine with a stroll along the promenade, or visit the Museum of the History of Catalonia.

Fitness area and library

The hotel offers a buffet breakfast every morning in the lounge, and you can while away several hours in the reading area with a book from the library. The fitness center means there's no reason to neglect your gym routine while on vacation, and guests love the friendly staff.

Free WiFi, satellite TV

The hotel's 98 simple, light wood paneled rooms are decorated in soft creams and grays for a relaxing atmosphere, quite in contrast to the lively city just outside the windows. Free WiFi, satellite TV, and an in-room safe are a few of the useful features in each room.

Fun location
Fun location, close to the Sea and boardwalk, with many dining choices within walking distance. Located on a sreer thst has a wide pedestrian boulevard in the middle of the street making for great walking and people watching. Metro stations are very close and all the Gauti exhibits are either within walking distance or a short Metro ride.

Great location right on rambla strip. Staff where very knowledgeable of the area, where able to answer all our questions. The only problem was working the safe in the room but the maintenance came up right away and instructed me how to use it because it was a new system they just installed.

Good hotel
Nothing to complain about. Did have a smell in your room when you would come back from being out since can’t run ac/heat but clears out after it ran some when you arrived back. Close to cruise port and many other walkable areas.

So so option in an optimal location
Although my first impression of the hotel was less than favorable, my rating did improve during the stay. Pros: great service, breakfast was very good with a variety of European foods choices plus scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and cereal. The property is centrally located on La Ramblas and directly off the metro line stop for drassanges. The room was clean and tidy Cons: we paid for a balcony room. The balcony was overlooking the back of the building on a flat roof. No view whatsoever. The only benefit of this was that it was very quiet at night to sleep. The bed(s) are truly two twin beds pushed together. Separate bedding, middle section separates the two beds. Not good for couples unless you want to sleep apart. The room was small overall, but met our needs for the last night of our trip. Recommendation: you are better off renting an air bnb, as these are plentiful with lots of amenities, more space and better views but in a pinch, this place will work.

Explore another option, not worth it.
Initially left a great impression, but more money, more problems? Worst upgrade situation I have ever had, and the hotel did not respond with any solutions. Upgraded the room to have a city view. Was looking for comfort after weeks of traveling. Location is great, but service is terrible for the amount paid. Would have preferred a smaller hotel with more decent staff. No housekeeping on the fourth floor corner rooms apparently. Whatever, that's fine and it happens that one forgets a room, I guess, but don't refuse to take responsibility for it when I followed up on it for a basic hotel service. Left the room at 8 am, housekeeping is 9-2:30 pm. Came back around noon, nothing. Called reception to ensure that it would be done before leaving the hotel again and within the servicing hours. Was told it would be done. Came back after servicing hours, nothing. Called again, was told it was done. Lies. "Cleaning" after two phone calls to the reception -- including during cleaning hours -- apparently means they will stop by with towels and water bottles and insist that the room has been cleaned, as you sit on an unmade bed, until you invite them into the room to see for themselves that the room has not been cleaned, and *then* they back off their claim. As great as the location may be, service is a huge part of the hotel industry, and the treatment here is complete nonsense, to put it mildly, when blatant lying takes place. There are other hotel options on this street.
