Strategic area. Near JR Station and many shops. Helpful hotel staff. The room size quite small (but standard in Japan) 😁

Fine but old
This was my second stay at Excel, the first time was 10 years ago. The hotel is a perfect location for Shibuya, and super easy access to/from the train station. I've stayed at other hotels but schlepping my luggage there on the streets of Shibuya was a pain. That is why I chose Excel again. The hotel was fine, but it is aged and tired, it needs a refurbishment. We didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel. Be sure to ask for a view of the Shibuya intersection from a higher floor. We were on the other side of the hotel and didn't have a nice view. The breakfast buffet is dismal, don't pay extra for it. It's better to go to a coffee shop and get a breakfast set. There is an Excelsior coffee shop on the 4th floor of the building. I probably will not stay at Excel again unless there is a refurbishment. Wifi was terrible! It kept disconnecting. That was my family's main complaint.

Hotel was nice and our room was comfortable, clean and a good size. Location is great and very convienent! We entered from the train station and as it was raining, we didn’t get wet. We loved watching the people at Shibuya Scramble from the hotel.
