Great hotel for business and personal travel
Great historical hotel with the necessary modern amenities. Great staff. Breakfast on the roof. In the evening, drinks on the roof. It's my go to hotel in SG.

Wonderful Old Hotel
This is a very old but very well-kept hotel in a nice area across from the Riverwalk. The rooms are large, nicely decorated, very clean. The staff is very friendly and speaks good English. They have a doorman day and night. The restaurant services good breakfast and meals. The rooftop lounge is fun with good food and drinks and live band. The band is very good, plays American hits. Lots of travelers there to chat with. I love the pictures and the history of the hotel. There is some wear and tear, but very little

Time for a change
Each time I visit this hotel I have to complain about the room allocated. This time I did not bother. I decided it is my last time to stay here. Staff are arrogant and super unfriendly...I have not seen a single smile in my last 2 visits, Room was not cleaned properly. Such a change from previous years.

Disappointed with hotel staff.
Good hotel. Good area. Was slightly disappointed that they would refund the room for the one night we didn’t use as our flight was delayed. Called ahead and confirmed our late arrival - and called Hotels.Com. Was reassured they would refund - but then wouldn’t and used “not good english” as an excuse. Would recommend hotel to others on that basis. Just disappointed.

Not right first time....and that is every time
Initially was offered a very run-down room with a nasty smell. This is not the first time. After complaining I ended up in a better room for 1 night and next day got the room I booked and paid for.
