Great situation with on site parking
Hotel is very conveniently situated and on site parking is an added bonus. We have stayed in other NH Hotels and really like the chain. We booked a premium room and thought that for the extra we paid the room was a little dark and the furniture and fittings were quite worn. The handles on the drawers of the desk felt like they were about to fall off. The website says that rooms have been re furbished but I don't think this one had. Maybe we should have opted for one of the new rooms. Breakfast buffet had plenty of choice and the public areas of the Hotel are welcoming.

Amazing breakfast!
Great location. Tiny room. Breakfast has absolutely everything you can think of eating - and fantastic. Overall - I would stay there again, but I would try to get an upgraded room.

Very Disappointed...
My wife and I were very disappointed with this hotel. We stayed there for 5 nights in March. The listing was very misleading as it said the hotel had air conditioning. The first night our room was easily 80 degrees while it was 50 degrees outside. We couldn't get the A/C to turn on so we opened the door. I woke up covered in mosquito bites. We were told the next morning that they don't turn the A/C on until May! I had to sleep with a wet wash cloth on my chest for 4 nights to stay cool. Then the shower head fell off the wall when I tried to adjust it. While the location was great - close to train and City center - we just didn't have a pleasant experience. Also, this seemed more of a business hotel than a tourist hotel.

Not bad, not great.
The hotel is good - clean rooms, good breakfast etc. It is going through some maintenance work so looks like a building site in some parts. It’s a nice hotel. The problem I had was during my check in. My room wasn’t ready when I arrived at the hotel. Of course I was allowed to sit by the pool whilst I waited, but if check in is at 12 and I got into my room after 4, then there’s a problem. Unfortunately, I wasn’t offered any form of compensation, which is a shame. The other issue was that my “double” bed was made up of 2 single beds. Again, a change wasn’t possible. Lastly, the pool area was not aesthetically pleasing and very small. Quite disappointed with my overall experience. It has the opportunity to be so much better.

For business only?
NH Malaga is everything you would expect from a business hotel, excellent rooms, nice reception staff (especially Johanna) and overpriced breakfast. Having stayed at two NH hotels recently the strict pool towel policies at both suggest that either they are targeted by kleptomaniac guests or they just decide to treat all guests as criminals. It's not a particularly nice welcome to a hotel to be placed under suspicion straight away, a better way needs to be found at this and their sister hotel in Córdoba. Please note that the pool area is not open until noon for no particular reason. So this is not a hotel for leisure guests. The confused messages about whether or not we were allowed to catch an hour of sun before checking out ruined what would otherwise have been a very nice stay.
