Classic, old-school lodging in perfect location.
Choose the Union Club because of its excellent location, across a street from the Empress and a block from the Inner Harbor. Enjoy the Union Club because of its extraordinary ambience and fine service; it feels like a "gentlemen's club," which it essentially is. It is housed in a beautiful old building, with a very pleasant dining room that offers a splendid breakfast, huge reading room stocked with a variety of newspapers and magazines, and a pleasant library as well. Oh, yes, there also is a billiards room. Service absolutely what one would expect in such a setting -- first rate.

Back to an earlier time...
Definitely has old world charm but many travelers would not pack the dress code requirements, nor appreciate the history of the place.

Memorable Stay
Wanted to splurge with the family. It was a beautiful hotel. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. A little overpriced but still worth it.
