Inn By the Bay Monterey, Monterey

We had several issues with pre-reservation room requests. 2 queen beds plus pet -friendly room, seemed to be too much to handle for the front desk staff. several calls and phone conversations later, we were told that our requests were going to be met upon arrival. flash forward to time of arrival and no rooms available with 2 queen beds plus dog. not having a choice, we accepted the ground floor, smaller room with king plus twin bed. room was not as advertised (make sure you ask for the newly renovated rooms). given the price and location to downtown area of breweries and restaurants, we wished the accommodations were better. perhaps the newer rooms meet the standards of an INN and the cost of your stay. most likely to try another HOTEL for our next visit to monterey.

The grounds and room were very clean and keep up. The only issue we had was the rooms have commercial carpet with no padding so the noise from the room upstairs was awful.

The place was dirty with spiders and human hair around. The location was excellent.
