Exceptional
Brighton in December
Great price for a fancy hotel in the off-season. Still has a great bar and restaurant. Rooms very accessible for disability issues.

Make sure you ask for what you need. Lovely spot.
Amazing location. Building is historic, so that means stairs, dodgy lifts, and differences between rooms. Two of our rooms were really quite lovely, one was really just standard. Would definitely recommend it though, just remember to book parking and be careful if you have accessibility issues. Is loud at night, but if you're on holiday who cares? The seafront sunshine on your face in the terrace in the morning makes up for it and there is a lovely little American style diner just next door for breakfast and lunch.

Great aesthetic! Rooms are vintage in feeling but contemporary and modern in function. Front desk staff very pleasant and efficient. Loved the furniture, decoration, and comfort of the bed. The only thing was that the shower was consistently cold, but otherwise a great stay.

A Very Enjoyable Stay
A very pleasant old hotel fronting the Channel. Our requested room with two beds, however, was located on the side of the building so we we not able to see the water. Also, there was a floor fan in our room that we did use when we couldn't open the window. Only later, when speaking with a member of staff, did we learn that all room windows do, perhaps with a bit of effort, open. We also learned that there are no view rooms with multiple beds. In spite of all this, we truly enjoyed our stay. The staff were exceptionally nice and gladly accommodated us by allowing us to store our luggage we'll past our check out time. The included breakfast served in the dining room with a view out the front of the hotel was very good. I must mention that a very nice member of the staff, David (?), gave us a brief history of the hotel and Brighton, and even gave us suggestions of where to dine. There were many people enjoying the hotel's front patio and live entertainment during the wam summer days--it added a festive feel to our holiday. The hotel is old but has been nicely refurbished and has a certain charm to it. I would certainly stay at the Old Ship Hotel again but in a front room.
