Weekend away
Lovely location, easy to walk to bars, clubs, shops, cinema and theatre. Opposite conference centre. Hotel itself needs updating, deffinately not a spa hotel. Gym, shower and pool area very grubby..not relaxing at all. But ideal location for a visit to the area .

Expected more for the price
on first arrival we were told we couldn't have a parking space for the duration of our stay as we hadn't pre-booked ( no info saying this was necessary / advised ) so we parked about 15 mins walk away in a side street, only to notice the bay they gave us for the first night was not used at any point until we were about to leave on the Monday morning ! Credit card was charged on day of booking AND at check-in. This mistake was realised at check-out with a barely curt "don't know how that happened, sorry" The hotel communal / corridor areas are long overdue a revamp / lick of paint / wipe down with a soapy rag. Sections of wallpaper missing, exposed sections of pipework where there has obviously been a leak and 'making good' not finished Doors / frames showing an age of dirty handprints, stairs that feel like they're about to give way as you climb, a lift that barely takes 2 persons with luggage Once we got to the room, we found it to be well appointed, light and airy with a lovely view of the carpark :o) Limited housekeeping service ( made the bed ) even went to the trouble of removing empty bottles from the bin and leaving on the table ! comfy bed, decent shower, iron and board ( from the 70s :o) ) in the room, little bit of room to lounge about. Relatively quiet area just off the main drag of the town centre Even at the reduced rate 'deal' I feel it was a little overpriced for what you got. Premier Inn do as good a job for about a third of the price

The hotel is in an excellent location very central. for shops restaurants bars gardens etc .The hotel itself has everything you need rooms average size ,the bathroom had bath and shower,tv,tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer ironing board and iron.Bedroom and bathroom were clean but the hotel is a little tired and could do with updating. Man on reception [not sure of his name but think it might be Andy] was very helpful and found us a car paring space for the two nights which we hadnt reserved,we were very pleased we got this receptionist and not the other guy as he was rude and couldnt be bothered.Didnt use pool and spa but looked ok.The breakfast was not good at all the eggs had been there so long you could have bounced them ,sausages were hard and the bread was of the cheapest kind with no alternative.

Convenient location
Firstly, the hotel is not set in large gardens, as the photograph cleverly implies, it fronts onto a busy main road. The Car Park has about 35 (locked) spaces for the 81 bedrooms. These are NOT allocated on a first come basis, but on a pre-bookable basis, a point that you might miss if you don't book direct. The staff are all very helpful and will direct you to free parking roads, a brisk walk away from the hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable, but certainly did not "sport modern decor" as stated on the web site. During our visit, the weather was warm and required the windows being open throughout the night. A the room faced onto the main road, traffic noise and people leaving the hotel or next door restaurant, were very noisy. The Buffet Breakfast was good, but they use irritatingly small plates to try and reduce the amount you take. The hotel is situated conveniently close to the local amenities, which makes it an ideal base for visiting Harrogate.
