A solid hotel but nothing special.
Having heard great things about the hotel and regularly visiting Madeline's bar when we had the chance to stop for a friend's wedding weekend we took it. The building is amazing and you can see the effort that has come into the rebuild. However, for somewhere that isn't old, the furniture in the bedroom is chipped, the bathroom grout is starting to yellow, and the room we had 444 just felt soulless. We had breakfast as part of our stay and we had to go out after to get more food as the portions are small, lacking a carbohydrate on the full English also no black pudding with no extra bacon or egg to replace, the food was just about warm. The positive was the quality of the sausage the rest didn't feel like much effort had home into it. For the price, I would have expected better, a shame really.

Comfortable, spacious, stylish and relaxing
The service was amazing, the rooms spacious and beds incredibly comfortable, with nice touches like Nespresso machine and TV with Chromecast. The rooms were quiet despite being right in the heart of Birmingham. I had an amazing stay. My only criticism would be some maintenance needed in the bathroom (to cover drip marks on the wall).

Beautiful, well-appointed stay in the centre.
Lovely hotel - nice redesign and well-appointed rooms and common spaces. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was exceptionally quiet notwithstanding a large event taking place at the time. It was a great stay!

The only thing that was disappointing was bar didn’t serve any non alcoholic lager or any sort of fruit cider not everyone likes wine or cocktails
