Eh
The hotel was decent enough. Not a real great neoghborhood but close enough to the Grand Via. We arrived in the middle of the night so the neighborhood surrounding the neighborhood was very sketchy and scaring from the metro stop. The hotel was clean but I have stayed in better hotels in Europe. But my biggest qualm is that it did not have the friendliest of staff at all. We had 2 separate reservations due to a flight coming in late which caused a lot of confusion. We checked in at 1 am in the morning and told the staff member that we had another separate reservation for next 2 nights and if we could stay in our same room that we were first checking in our whole visit which for a total of 3 nights. The clerk confirmed yes and since it was well past 1am we went to our room and unpacked and slept until we were rudely awoken at noon telling us to get out of the room that they have another room to place us in. We hadn’t even showered and we had unpacked everything so we told the hotel we needed time. Not even an hour later the hotel staff sent an abrupt lady to our room to kick us out. We tried to reason with her that we were working on it but she wouldn’t listen just repeated herself over and over again. Once we did leave they did at least give us another room right away but it was quite rude to tell us one thing the night before and then forcibly try to remove us the next day not knowing that the clerk had misspoken. They didn’t apologize or anything.

The hotel was dated inside and out. Safe was not working when we arrived. When called we were told the person in charged was gone for the day. Did not get fixed until the last day.

After hotels.com had screwed up my original hotel recommendations for a hotel that was 30 minutes away from the city in an industrial area with no easy access to any public transportation, this was an excellent hotel for us perfectly located, I highly recommend it to anybody who wants to get to know Madrid.

Great location and hotel staffing.
The hotel was very pleasant in that the staff was very attentive and polite. The check in and check out was very quick and easy. They really keep our room very clean and neat. The breakfasts were very good and it was great just eating breakfast in the hotel instead of going out to a restaurant. The area around the hotel was very safe and it was near to the Metro system and was close to the main shopping district. We also had many place close by for eating. We would stay at this hotel again when we next go to Madrid.
