This is one of those places in which you're never sure if you want to leave your room to do site-seeing. And, while you are out and about, you find yourself looking forward to relaxing back in the hotel's lovely gardens, it's marvelous bar, or your relaxing, luxurious room.

The Royal Crescent Hotel is one of the finest places I've ever stayed. It is relatively expensive, but so, so worth it. The rooms and grounds are beautiful -- behind the historic building is a large garden with many places to sit and enjoy the sun (which shone brightly while I was there!). The spa is heavenly. I got a wonderful, relaxing massage while I was there, and spent every evening in the relaxation pool, whirlpool, and sauna. The restaurant serves world-class food and cocktails. Really, everything was so perfect, down to the smallest detail ... not the least the attention I received from the staff, who were, to a person, polite, helpful, warm, and professional. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Follow my example, save your pennies and splurge on this lovely, lovely place!!

Beautiful hotel, located at top end of the town, but at a reasonable walking distance from the town's major attractions. The BELL STAFF is truly EXCELLENT and staff is accomodating. The hotel's views, either overlooking a lovely vista or garden, are impressive and it is a quiet venue, but close enough to restaurants etc. However, there are a number of problems that I feel stop the hotel from being first class. First is the restaurant. You have to step out of the hotel and walk across the garden to get there, which isn't fun in the cold and rain. In addition room service comes from there, and my experience had my food come without any attempts to keep it warm. Cold breakfasts were fine, but I didn't enjoy any of the hot breakfasts. Someone needs to tell tell the kitchen that just putting ham and cheese in a sandwich (without the bechamel sauce) does not a croque monsieur make. Most of what I ate had fancy names and didn't live up to even a modest standard. (The exception to the poor food was a SUPERB CREAM TEA.) The rooms lighting was annoying . It was too dim at night and had no central switch,. The kettle and coffee and tea that are usually in rooms had to be requested, and the restocking was very haphazard. Twice I had maid service walk in on me, despite a do not disturb sign and my answering their knock, telling them I didn't need service yet. While the hotel is lexcellent in a lot of ways, I just don't think it five star yet.

This property has some of the best views in Bath, and the room was really nice and spacious. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was really good for breakfast and dinner.

Good but not great given the price

The stay overall was nice and pleasant. We ate in the hotel in the evening as well. Breakfast was very good, included in our stay. The downsides for me were the room, it qas nice and fairly big but i was expdcting more for the money we spent. We had a heritage room. The dining experiance was good, rhe staff were all very good but the food was not exceptional and in my opinion over priced. All in all a good stay, In the sunner the gardens etc will be lovely and add value to the booking. For me the hotwl is over priced, despite being excellent.
