    Charming but missing the modern comfort.

    Some of the things about an old house that make you miss a modern hotel are the fact that my room didn't have AC and the plumbing was making very irritating buzzing noise in the bathroom. Then again the staff is so friendly and the house is very beautiful! Breakfast is great but they should refill the items more often. And offer customers coffee when they enter, I had to ask for it each morning.

    The hotel is unique and is one of the most beautiful hotel buildings I have stayed in. The historical decor has been renovated and upgraded with style. The breakfast buffet is worth trying even if you are not a guest. We had amazing views from the room and the room was so much more personal than hotels in Finland usually are. The location was perfect, just a walk away from our favourite restaurant and at the foot of a park with a great kids' park and the canal. We will definetly consider staying there again, even though we usually do not stay at hotels because they are so impersonal. Only the downstairs Italian restaurant does not live up to the standard of the hotel.

    Two adults two teenagers were cramped in the room. We required the pull out sofa open with 4 pp (it was very uncomfortable) so this created little to no walking room. Unable to use desk area w/ chair and little room for luggage. Bathroom is one person only, very small. BUT . . . Hotel is associated with another hotel Ilves 1/4 mile walk away in which you have use of very nice pool, sauna, fitness facility and use of bikes to check out for 3hr duration. All staff very pleasant and accommodating. Hotel restaurant very good! Great location! Walking distance to just about everything you need, parks, restaurants, grocery, cafe’s, shopping, art district, and ice cream. Fun amusement theme park only 1 1/2 mile away.

    Room was otherwise very ok, except the bathroom would need a general cleaning. The surfaces are clean, but there is old dirt in all corners. We were also a bit dissapointed with the bread selection at the breakfast. No deacent rye bread and only prebaked buns.

    Relaxing Easter getaway

    Stayed two nights during the Easter holidays in this historic hotel. The customer service and arrangements were excellent although the pandemic restrictions. If you like hikes and are staying longer I recommend to do the 30 km Pyhä lake trail and for shorter stays Pyynikki nature reserve walk is a must. Carita

    Another business trip

    The building itself is something special to see - it´s a 90 year old beautiful building near the centre. Everything has been preserved or restorated in honor of the thirties (I think :) ) The staff is nice and professional. Breakfast basic, nothing special. My room was surprisingly small. The bed is good.
