Family friendly, good value
Stayed here with family for a night while visiting the Moors for a day and it was perfect. The lobby has some Xbox systems set up so kids can just walk up and play (my kids were obsessed of course), plus a nice indoor pool which was much appreciated. Room was clean and everything was well put together- it was really great for what we needed. We were able to walk to sights and dinner, which was even better. I would stay there again if we were in the area, particularly with the kids. It was a good value. Only con- staff were a bit business-like, not very personable. If that's the worst thing I can say about a place- I'm still happy.

Great family stay
Had a great time with our young family. The staff were lovely and the room and breakfast were great. The kids enjoyed the pool too. I would say though that a proper mattress and sheet for the cot would have been much better. The location was perfect for walking around the city

Fantastic Hotel and staff
Had a wonderful stay with my husband and two children. Arrived to guest of the day extras which was a really lovely start. Sat in lounge a few seats away from Ronnie O'Sullivan which was exciting. Nice little walk to Xmas market and a swim for the children in hotel. Loved it and staff are fabulous. Thank you we will definitely be back.

Comfortable hotel, but poor facilities
We were disappointed on arrive to find the hotel was having an extension being built and we weren’t notified of this on the website like other hotels that advertise on The car park was full to the brim with builders vans, eventually we found a space, check in was ok and the room we had booked was nice and comfortable. As for the pool we were rather dissatisfied it was unnamed (not a problem) however the entrance door lead into a room with two changing cubicles and one open cubicle shower and then after this you went straight into the pool area, no toilet ? Not the facilities I would expect for a so called 4 star hotel what would a parent do if a child needed to visit the toilet when In the pool area, as they would have to go out shower dry off and get dressed then go Into the reception / bar area to visit the toilet. I think not !! Now there was only us and another two people in the pool, which was cold by the way and we decided to leave about 5 mins before they did so they had to wait inthe pool area for us to shower and get changed In the cubicles before they could do the same god forbid if there would have been 6 or 7 couples/ families all wanting to leave around the same time ! , I must say that the staff were pleasant and always said hello. For me I will look else where for my next trip to York which is a lovely please to visit by the way and perhaps next time I see a Novotel or of it’s sister hotels I’ll skip to another hotel brand instead
