Euston Square Hotel, London
The room was small. The shower stall was terribly small. For the price I paid, it was not worth it. Next time I will go back to Kensington area

Confusing Design Decisions in New Rooms.
The hotel is undergoing renovations and I happened to walk into the lobby as the manager was talking plans through with some people. I think it'll be a very nice hotel once the refurbishments are finished. The was given a brand new room on the third floor — a standard double. Even after refurbishment the rooms are still tiny. Being brand new and very clean made up for the size, but there are a few things you should be aware of. There is no space to put a suitcase and no storage for clothes other than a few hangers on a wall. You'll be quite literally living out of your suitcase in the smaller rooms. The bathroom was missing a few things including: no towel hooks or bars, no ledges/shelves to place a shower bag or razor on, no ledges in the (big) shower for soap or your own toiletries, no toilet roll holder (they put the rolls in the tiny sink cabinet). These were minor convenience frustrations that would have been cheap to put in and would have helped the room feel new and smart at the same time. Other quirks: no phone to call the front desk, my TV was switched out one day while I was gone and I couldn't get the volume to work afterward, the elevator is silent and has no floor indicators when it is moving, Wifi annoying makes you sign in every time you reconnect, was missing the advertised safe. My bed was comfy, though, and the new rooms are very quiet. Euston Road is busy and noisy and rarely heard a peep from outside. The only noise was from hallway doors closing.

Super Convenient
Super convenient for our last night in the UK. Close to the train stations. Probably the most comfortable bed of our trip. Compact, but efficient space. Didn't take advantage of the local mobile phone feature, but it could be a great benefit.

Both Good and Bad
The hotel is very nice and modern. The rooms are small but that's what I would expect for downtown London. The rooms are also high-tech with lots of new USB ports for charging. The shower has multiple shower heads which was nice. The girls at the front desk had almost no personality. This is a training issue that can be fixed easily. I sat on the bed, the bed moved and knocked over a tall glass water bottle that they had left out. The tall bottle knocked into the glass next to it which promptly fell over and shattered all over the floor. We picked up most of the glass I notified the front desk. Housekeeping came and replace the glass leaving all of the broken pieces on the floor. Ugh! After midnight we were awoken to fire alarms which evacuated the building. One hour later we are allowed back into our rooms by the fire brigade. The guys at the front desk were stressed but very nice. As I mentioned earlier, the rooms are small. It had to be the smallest desk and sink that I've ever seen in hotel room. Also, there are no air conditioning units to cool the room in the summer. This requires the windows to open which is a became a problem. The windows only open from the top but the window shades were installed too close which blocked opening the window. The bathroom window couldn't be opened at all. This seems like a fire hazard to me. Lastly, the hospital is directly across the street so be prepared for lots of siren noise if you have the windows open.
