Nice room no need for dirty net curtains. Shame the karaoke in the bar was off putting.

Seen better days
Royal Bath is a faded jewel; a remnant of a bygone age of rambling buildings that are not skyscrapers and full of plastic and hessian. On the other hand, at least modern hotels tend to provide guests with free wi-fi in their rooms (not at the RBH). Here's the thing - definitely RBH could do with renovation but the cost of doing that and the profit goals /ROI for whoever takes up the challenge, will inevitably mean that the new tariff will be way beyond the reach of anybody who currently stays there. So, although its splendour its now looking dowdy we should be careful what we wish for. Another commercial determinant for visionary investment is the current state of Bournemouth City Centre, which is looking pretty sad following the demise of Beale's, House of Fraser etc. and many smaller businesses. Like many UK costal towns it is honestly reflecting the truth of the decay of the national economy, which begs the question: would you really choose to spend your summer holiday there?

Incompetent
The check in made faulty towers look like the Mayfair. The manager is absolutely incompetent and I won’t be staying here again

Avoid!
Awful stay, residents fighting at 4am, police knocking on doors at 4:30am asking for statements. Complained the following morning and they couldnt give a toss, just avoid!

2/10 Poor

4 stars?!
How this hotel has 4 stars is beyond me. It is the definition of ‘tired’. A typical hotel in a popular tourist destination that has stood for many many years but never seen any form of maintenance or renovation. The rooms are in terrible condition with cracking paint on windows, rotting wood, mould, cobwebs and a bathroom straight out of the 80s. This hotel does not deserve 4 stars for one more second. Website pictures are misleading. The ‘air conditioning’ was in fact a table top fan caked in dust and dirt. Stains on furniture and marks on the ‘clean’ sheets.

2/10 Poor

Disgusting service and unclean!
It was awful! I had paid nearly £300 for a double sea view room. To which I was upgraded on arrival to a ‘suite’ I asked whether this was still a sea view and was told it was. When we got to the suite it was in fact only a family room it did not say suite on the door like the actual suites did. The sea view that I specifically paid for was in fact a view of TREES!!! When I went back to reception to sort this out I was told that was the best sea view available. I asked for the room I had booked and was told it had been resold. Before sorting my problem out the person on reception was more interested in reselling the family room that we were put in!! Basically because the air show was on they put the prices up so I was charged for a family room and because it hadn’t sold I was given what I paid for.. I was not upgraded at all. It was so the double room could be resold and make more money. The bathroom was disgusting the shower had hair in it and the tap was broken. The bathroom sink was black and also had hair in the plug hole also with a broken tap. No refund offered for anything even had to pay for Wi-Fi and breakfast! I will NOT be recommending or returning!!

Fabulous stay if you like drama !
On arrival there was two men threatening staff over being charged for two rooms . Then another lady complaining about mould so wasn’t the normal welcome of somewhere your ment to stay and have paid £150 for one night . Then that evening after seeing our comedy show . Staff were pinning a half naked man down and police being called . Perfect way to end a fantastic evening. We were up early and went for breakfast at 8am considering we were the first there you would assume the breakfast to be hot/warm … it was all cold apart from the toast we cooked !!!
