Charming, if a little dated
The Abbey is an old but charming hotel in the heart of Great Malvern. The front desk staff was especially helpful and pleasant. The beds are a bit hard, the décor is slightly dated, and the rooms are overheated in winter. Still, its a charming place to stay and extremely well situated..

Nice hotel but.....
Nice hotel in a central location. The room booked was advertised with a bath tub, which is the reason we chose this hotel over others in the area. The water pressure was dreadful and as such it was not possible to use the bath. The hotel and location is excellent and if you are happy with a shower then it's a good choice. However, I wouldn't return due to the bath situation.

Pretty good but lacks style and local knowledge
Very enjoyable stay in Malvern where we were visiting the Morgan Car Factory. Hotel was a little tired in places and not particularly welcoming. Lounge and bar areas ok but very bare, - needs flowers and a little colour. Staff very polite and smiled a lot but again, hardly a warm friendly welcome. The breakfast again was pretty good. Nothing special, but nothing to complain about. A big complaint is however the provision of bottled water. After all Malvern is to England what Evian is to France. The quality of its water has made Malvern famous worldwide, so why did some dull person decide to prove water from Harrogate in our room. I think this little point is symptomatic of the negative points of this hotel. Overall we were very pleased and would come here again, it just need somebody with a bit of flair and local knowledge to add a bit of sparkle!
