    First time in Banff
Banff is beautiful. Hotel was very close to downtown. Parking under the building was worth the extra money.

Prefer this Hotel over the Fairmont!
My first time in Banff and it’s beautiful. The staff made all the difference. Rachel, Russell, Joette, and Beka were just some of the wonderful people that I got to know (I know I left out a few- they were all great) Housekeeping staff (Ani?) were all amazing and always ready with extra towels or bottled water if I needed it. The food at the restaurant and lounge is great. The Evergreen restaurant and lounge and small but very cozy and you get to know the staff well. The room was VERY clean and well appointed with a gas fireplace and very comfy bed. We picked the “high season” so prices were a lot, but that was the situation for every hotel. I would stay at this hotel again in a heart beat. It’s not as prestigious as the Fairmont but go to the Fairmont Banff for a drink and to shop (great stores in the lower level) but stay at the Delta Royal Canadian Hotel. The Fairmont is beautiful but the rooms are 150 SFT (it was built in the 1800’s) The Delta has much better rooms for less and the location is closer to downtown shops and restaurants.

    Nice place with issues
We checked in effortlessly however after requesting a quiet room far from kitchen, meeting rooms and elevators we were give room 101. A lovely first floor room that backed onto the kitchen, faced a busy road and had floodlights shining on the windows. We immediately asked for another room but were told there was nothing else in our category that night. The following morning we were moved to a similar sized quiet room in the back of the hotel. The second room had a shower door that wouldn’t latch, a safe that wouldn’t lock and a sink that leaked all over the counter. While everything was fixed quickly, I expect more from a place that costs over $400/night. The restaurant was good with tasty fairly priced breakfasts and the entire staff was wonderful. Delta needs to step up their game for us to consider staying in another one of their hotels.
