    Overpriced

The bar service was very slow, not the fault of the barman , there should be more staff to serve drinks / food

    Stay elsewhere.

I would never stay here again or recommend anyone to stay here. 1. Do not stay in room 365 unless you have no issue with constant bass noise from The dining room. Which when I complained about at 10.30pm was initially told wld go off shortly, but it did not until 11.30pm, restarting at 8am. (We were politely and charmingly moved the next day, the kids gifted soft toys and we were given a bottle of cheap wine) 2. On the second night, the asst manager called the room AFTER 10pm and AFTER I’d got the kids to sleep to offer earlier requested complimentary hot chocolate to them. A total lack of common sense in ringing the room. But all this I would have shrugged off. 3. At 11.30pm the guests in the next door room arrived back, completely hammered. For over an hour I held my children’s hands in their sleep and then as they woke to the horrific expletive ridden fight next door which sounded like it could erupt into violence . From their screaming match they had been extensively served wine in the hotel. If so, that’s a complete lack of judgement to serve guests in that state. We called reception twice to intervene which they did promptly, but I had to hold my hands over my sleeping Childrens ears and hold them as they shook at the terrifying fight next door. Having had no holiday in two years, this has been an exhausting and unpleasant experience.

Average room at above average price

Expected a much better room for £150. Bedroom was too warm at night with no opportunity to open windows.

    Disappointing stay x4

Been here before and it’s a lovely location. The rooms are tired and mine certainly hasn’t been cleaned. My colleagues confirmed likewise. The lady who arranged the meeting room was fantastic and organised everything perfectly. (She was the one who picked my enquiry up after the call promised from her colleague never happened. The bar staff couldn’t have been less interested. You’d think that after the covid lockdown they would be eager to serve. Not a chance. Disappointing experience and certainly won’t be top of my list to return.

Unable to eat dinner in the main restaurant, first time as a resident I've been unable to eat in the main restaurant in any hotel. A special night away with my son ended up with us eating in their 'sports bar'. Unfortunately, the dinner service was far from the mark, with many things forgotten and repeated requests made to remind the staff. Guests seemed to think that Covid masks were an 'option' when entering the bar/ restaurant, and the staff did little to remind them. Having used the hotel previously to host a corporate event, the experience as an individual was very different. I won't be rushing back to stay again.

    Lovely but pricey break

Lovely stay, spa was excellent. Dinner/food and drinks good but overpriced by a long shot. Service slow and staff appeared stressed. Felt Covid safe.

Very poor - 3 star experience at 5 star prices

This place is one to avoid. Checkin was painful with no rooms free until 4pm. No air conditioning in the bedrooms (not great on the hottest day of the year). We waited ages for food and drink. Inexperienced staff - many working in roles without any training/idea what they’re doing. The waitress didn’t know what she was doing, the spa girl knew nothing about the spa/treatments and the bar boy... was too young to take a drink order. This place is milking the champneys brand name -whilst delivering a very poor experience. Woke up at 4am ready to drive home.
