Blue Waters Inn, Speyside
disappointing for such a nice coastal town
The shuttle service at this hotel is mostly for show. I called a month in advance to set this up for pickup and days before I arrive it became a battle to get picked up by the shuttle and it's a service you pay for $40 there and $75 round trip. The first concierge I spoke with said yes get the shuttle will be there at the time we were to arrive. The next day Anuli the main concierge said the shuttle is unavailable but she could set up a taxi pickup $55 each way. Gave no excuse for this until several emails later. Out of the numerous people I talked to at the hotel, none of them were able to get hotel shuttle service due to it not being "available". The pictures of the place online are so far removed from what is actually at the location. I'm not kidding. There is a seaweed manifestation on that side of the island that is not being managed. It's like the seaweed comes into the shore and they don't stay on top of it to clean it up. so a nice walk on the beach is out of the question it's on the better part of the hotel front so swimming is out of the question as well. kayaking is about all you can do without a hefty fee. The jacuzzi is nice. The pool is warm. The water sound while you are sleeping is heavenly and the birds chirping loudly along with waves is nice enough for you to forget that you are laying on a concrete bed. I am not stretching on that end's not up for debate. The best thing about this hotel is a waitress at the Aqua restaurant. ERICA WAS GREAT

The stay was ok. Had a big problem with water seeping into the room that crated huge puddles. Woke up to a pool of water on the floor.

the drive from the airport to Blue Waters Inn is longggg and sort of dangerous for those who are not familiar with the road and how the local drives here. But it's all worth it as the hotel is just gorgeous!! The check in process was smooth and easy. We stayed at the room with balcony & the sea view. Sleeping at night was pure bliss as you're sleeping with the sound of the ocean. The food at the restaurant is a bit pricey but still good. My husband really likes the pina colada and said it was one of the best he ever tasted! We weren't able to do any of the activities offered at the hotel (kayaking, diving etc) but hopefully we will be able to comeback back to this spot!
