Well past it’s prime and won’t stay again
I used to stay here every week over a two year period (2018-2019) and it was at that time very smart and an all round great hotel which is why it has such good reviews. COVID has clearly not been kind and whilst the location remains great and the building beautiful that is about where it stops. Room was dirty, boiling hot and overall most things didn’t work. The really nice bar and restaurant is no longer open having never reappeared post COVID, air con doesn’t work, TV doesn’t work and everything was damp and mouldy. A real shame as the staff remain lovely.

Disappointing
Stayed on a business trip at the Abode Glasgow. The hotel rooms are basic & bathrooms are run down, very tired with the shower not working well... oh & very small. The mattress is beyond soft..... well used in my opinion. Air con sounds like a jumbo jet is flying next to you. Saving grace was the young lady on reception throughout our stay- she was great & took onboard our comments moving a coworker. However when the guests were waiting to check in (& i was waiting for my room key to be reprogrammed) ... with a line out the front door & down the steps the GM walked off reception & left the young lady to deal with guests herself/alone. (I know it was the GM as i asked the young lady). Oh & no dinner offering... not disclosed when booked..... car parking discount had to be asked for as i overheard from another guest....

Very Poor, overpriced. No attention to detail.
Hotel is fine, not worth the very high cost. Highly overheated and air conditioning not working in room. No spare rooms and window opens a crack, no soap in gent’s toilet. Generally, lack of any attention to small things. Most unpleasant stay.

Disappointed
Not so good. Late check in so we were given ground floor suite at back of hotel. Hate ground floor. Windows do not open. We were in same section as all the bike race riders who got up & banged their doors shut on leave at 5_6am. We wanted some rest after traveling all week in Scotland. The internet didn’t work. The tv had no working movie channel.
