Average stay
This was an ok stay, but for $225 US per night, it was too much money for what we got. The hotel is in a mostly residential street/area adn the buildings next door are in really bad shape. The room was an ok size but the bathroom was beyond tiny. No space for toiletries and and the showere is not bigger than what you find on a cruise ship. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The room was extremely hot all the time (even for us used to the Florida weather) and there was no way to adjust the thermostat. We ended up opening the windows. The breakfast was very basic, with bread, pastries, fruit, scrambled eggs and sausager or bacon; but it was the SAME every day. We stayed for 5 nights and by the 3rd day we got sick of the same menu. We skipped breakfast altogether on the 4th day, and went out for breakfast the last day. It is about 15-min walk to the main street where you find restaurants and shops. At the front desk, the only helpful person was a guy named Jorge; very friendly, resourceful and always with the biggest smile. A woman with a short blond bob was always in a bad mood and the one time I asked her to give us restaurants recommendations, she said "90% of the restaurants here are very good and the other 10% are good. Just walk to main street and good luck." Wow! Beware, food in Iceland is ridiculously expensive! We paid $35 for seafood soup, $30 for pizza, $8 for small hot chocolate, $8 for a bag of chips. Lunch can run you $85 and dinner $130.

Parking
Really great hotel and area. Only problem was parking. Kept having to wait a while for the attendant to open the gates.

Nice Hotel
Nice hotel had to park across the street which was OK. Friendly staff that spoke good English. Nice location away from downtown but there was a nice street that take you downtown. Near the water and the music hall. Breakfast was a little costly.

Great size room. Great location
We were happy with the convinence of the location; large size of the room. But the rooms are dated. We have a room with split level. Loved the layout. But the “ground floor” didn’t have blackout curtain. It was bright until almost midnight. My son had trouble falling asleep. He needed to wear an eye mask to sleep. Swan from reception was trying to help but he couldn’t find anything to blockout the light. I was very surprised.
