Would stay again but things you should know
Awesome location. Service is wonderful. Hotel is beautiful and clean. Rooms are spacious. Fireplace in living area is a nice bonus. There are mini fridges in living areas as well. There was plenty of room in the bedroom are for a roll-away bed, if you plan to bring kids. Here’s what you need to know- 1) our room was extremely noisy. Between street traffic, people going upstairs and the room heater, it was hard to sleep. No fault of the hotel but be prepared. 2) The bathrooms are tiny but clean. 3) restaurant was over priced and food was ok. Service there was great. My 1 suggestion that is in the hotel’s ability to change would be to 1) have coffee bar throughout the day- it gets cold in NM and coffee/tea after 9 am would be appreciated I would stay there again but take a noise machine next time.

Outstanding hotel
The Hotel Chimayo is our go-to hotel of choice and we are never disappointed. The staff (all of them) are outstanding. The rooms are clean and comfortable and we love the idea of a fire in the fireplace being an option. We have happily been going there for years and plan to continue our tradition.

Nice hotel, amazing location
I would describe this hotel as quaint. The service was impeccable and I really like that they have a phone number that you could text at any time with questions or issues. That was a really nice touch. Our room was small but sufficient. It had a nice balcony alothough there really isn’t any view to speak of, it was still nice to sit outside and enjoy the sun. The heat/AC was definitely different than what we are used too. Apparently, it is a one way system so they either have the heat turned on or the AC turned on, you do not have the ability to choose your room temperature. The first night we got in very late and because the room had been closed up it was very stuffy. So we turned on the system and selected a temperature of 65. We didn’t realize that every time it came on it was heat not AC. At 3 am we finally opened the windows to get a cross breeze, but it was a miserable night. When I texted the phone number about it they explained the situation and offered to provide us with a fan. We ended up not needing it because after turning the heat off and leaving the windows open all day the room was a very pleasant temperature the next night. There was a very noisy garbage truck directly outside our room each morning so I would request a room not on the street side. The bathroom was definitely worn, but had character. Overall, a nice little hotel. The location is perfect. Within walking distance to absolutely everything downtown. We would stay here again.

Grey stay
The customer service was great at the beginning with the morning concierge attendant, but the afternoon/evening attendant was a little either misinformed/under informed, which caused some issues. She did correct one of the problems, however, the other issue was with the travel site we booked our stay with(there was a charge for pets that the booking site did not make us aware of prior to booking). The comfort level of the room was satisfactory and clean, except for the pillows, which would completely flatten when I layed my head down on them, leaving me with a sore neck. I also didn’t understand the stairs leading down to two more doors that wouldn’t open at the bottom in our room... It wasn’t the worst place we’ve ever stayed, though, I’m just happy it was clean!
