$300 a night ought to come with more
Instead of the place we often stay in Montreal I chose the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth because the room prices were somehow very low -- I found out there was a large music festival and parade going on that barred all normal access to the local area that weekend. Without regard to that -- the hotel is expensive, the rooms are freshly modified and clean, but few amenities, a mini fridge you cannot use because it's filled with stuff already that you can't touch, no wifi without extra (extravagant fee) and the parking is all valet. When we came in after midnight, had to wait a while to get someone to park the car. It's a very nice hotel! I wouldn't stay here again tho--I would rather have self park, free wifi and a mini fridge that I can use for water and drinks, especially in the heat of summer!

Excellent hotel with great experience
Very good hotel. We love it a lot. The only concern we have is that the shower is easily poured out of the tub and makes the floor very wet.

Good location but disappointing room
We stayed at the hotel for two nights and found the hotel staff extremely helpful and cordial. The location was very convenient for activities. Our room was quite disappointing based on previous comfortable stays at Fairmont sites in the US and Canada. The size was challenging for two people with just two small desk-like chairs and the beds. The bathroom was very small and the shower door was a swing format that leaked onto the floor.

Great location!
Loved the location, and comfy room. The only complaint was the overcrowding of the elevators given how busy this hotel was. Staff were attentive. Loved the fitness room—pool was great, but at time overrun with kids. My only complaint is that $#%@ small pod Kuerig coffee machine—I could not get the small coffee pods to work, despite staff intervention; they would slip down, get caught, would not make a cup of coffee. Oh well...great coffee was to be had in the hotel lobby shops!

Gorgeous Hotel meets convention hell
The hotel is a landmark. It's beautiful, big and centrally located to shopping, metro, restaurants, cabs, pubs - everything is right there. It's also a convention hotel which I did not know, so everyday there are bus loads of people getting off at various times of the day, but mostly when you are trying to get to your room. The elevators are horribly slow and not all of them worked. Combine that with bus loads of convention people with luggage - we ended up waiting a long time on many occasions.
