Excellent hotel in Tokyo
Wonderful large room, bright and open. Clean and quiet. Comfortable beds, small bar, couch, table. Had room with queen size bed. Breakfast was buffet and quite extensive.

Top class hotel
Excellent hotel in every way. Nice restaurant, too. Very helpful and pleasant staff.
A Traveler, us4 night business trip
Kyoto Royal Hotel & Spa, Kyoto
Terrible service, hot room, poor bed, hard pillow
At first the 2 older Japanese men at the desk completely ignored us as we stood at the counter, didn't even look at us, one continued the fold receipts while the other supervised for about 5 min, when we were finally allowed to check in (11:30 PM) after traveling from across the world, I asked a completely reasonable easy three word answer question, about our stay. The older man serving us attempted to shue us, then tried to tell me there were other guests waiting and he would be happy to answer us after he served the other guests... yes there was one other couple behind us, but we waited in line while no one else was there and he was cracking jokes to the other guy. I am 35 my wife, also 35, was there... I had to stop him in his tracks and explain to him that my money was just as good as theirs and we waited patiently in line to get to the counter... I perceived a little racism going on, being that we are south Asian but still Americans... I would never stay here again and I suggest you keep looking. Our room was a steady 85 with the noncentral air turned all the way up and the pillows and bed were hard. The comforter was something I'd happily use... in a Chicago winter, not a Kyoto summer... do yourself a favor and keep looking...
