Great staff and location; rooms not well designed
First, the good news: The staff is excellent and friendly. The hotel is very conveniently located near the main train station, and there are lots of restaurants in the hotel area.
The not-so-good news: The rooms were designed very creatively and artistically by people who have, quite possibly, never stayed in a hotel room.
The switch that controls the reading light over the bed also controls a lamp that illuminates the whole room. (That explains why the last person to use the room had partially unscrewed the large lamp’s bulb.)
The rooms are small, which is not a problem if the space is used efficiently. But the room gives the *illusion* of space, with frustrating results. There are very creative triangular shelves which are too small to be useful. There are no hooks on the bathroom door to hold towels. The sink has a shelf under it, and I was constantly shuttling items between the shelf and the top of the sink because the room just wasn’t there.
The light switch for the bathroom has an LED which is on when the bathroom light is on, not when it is off. That means that, in the middle of the night, you can’t see where the switch is. The switch is also to the left of a small slat of wood that you have to reach around if you forget to turn it on before you are in front of the bathroom door.
