A quick day visit in Savannah
Great location within walking distance to Riverfront and historical district sights. Nice wine and cheese "happy hour" worked great for a quick bite before going on a trolley tour ride - the trolley company picked us up and dropped us off at the front door to the hotel. We had dinner after the ride at a neighborhood restaurant. They had affordable valet parking, but we lucked out and found a spot on the street less than a block from the hotel and saved a few $$.

Overall the hotel was fairly good. However, there was mound on the bathroom walls so. We requested another room, which we were helped to move to only to see mound inthat bathroom too although not so severe. We did not complain again as we had nowhere else to stay.Obviuosly the bathroom fans are inefficient.

Second Visit Let down
We have stayed at Planters Inn before and it was a thoroughly pleasant experience. We were a bit disappointed this trip. Service was great but the bed was uncomfortable- it sagged toward the middle. We decided to grin and bear it. There was also a cleanliness issue- under the bed. There was some paper trash from previous occupants. The staff attended to this promptly. Will we stay there again-probably. Maybe second visits compared to first visits raise expectations.

The website makes you believe there is a restaurant and bar at the hotel, there is no restaurant and bar they are actually located across the street (The Pink lady). Also of note you need to make reservations to eat there at least 2 weeks out, and we went in middle November. The restaurant staff was friendly and they took us down to the bar level where they accept walk ins. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait for a table, the wait was 90 minutes. The food was excellent however. There are NO vending machines in the hotel. They give you 1 free bottle of water in your room after that it is $2.50 for 16.9 oz bottle of water. They had a typical hotel buffet, I expected better as the hotel was rated at 3.5 stars. The furniture was old and falling apart in our room and the wall paper was peeling off the walls. The room was clean however. The only parking available was valet, there was a parking garage across the street but we were told that the cost was 17.00 for any part of the day, so if you were to park your car for the day and decide to drive it later it would be an additional 17.00 based upon that fact we elected to valet as it seemed cheaper. The hotel was centrally located. Hotel staff was friendly.
