Very Good8.0
The staff are great and location was pretty comparable for the price we paid. I like that they let you borrow beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkel gear(no fins) and surf boards for no addt'l fees. The structure was dated but we didn't really spend much time in the rooms.

Not great
The Gateway was very clean and the staff were all very helpful... the building has pretty decor... but the building itself is functionally obsolete. The hallways are very narrow. All electricity is by wall conduit... a/c is wall mounted and does not work properly, tubs do not drain and even coffee pots do not work. We only stayed one night, but for the price, I had higher expectations. When I return to Hawaii, I will not stay there.

Waikiki Gateway Hotel -- Nothing better than that!
I could write a page on how amazing the stay was at Waikiki Gateway Hotel/La Croix. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with the Aloha vibes of Hawai'i. I was told that I had an upgrade and was given the Penthouse suite over looking the city and Waikiki. I had the best valet ever! He gave me awesome suggestions on where to go and what to eat. He was friendly. His name was Justin. My stay only continued to get better. I used the lobby computer with ease. my car was ready for me when ever I departed on spot. everyone continued to have smiles. As I checked out of La Croix Hotel Miles was exceptional. He joked with me about my Pok-eh Bowl. And my hiking that I did throughout the stay I had. He was personable and friendly. Always smiling! I also spoke with Melanie at check out and she had a smile and definitely gave that Aloha/Mahalo vibe right away! I felt like I was leaving a family that I made in a quick amount of time and that made me smile leaving. Like I stayed somewhere that wasn't just to make another quick stay out of a person but really enjoys their clients. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
