April/May visit
The renovation was terrific

Overall comfortable, clean, and mostly convenient
The hotel was clean and comfortable, convenient for an event we were attending in the city and the parking was good. The only issue we had was that the front desk associate couldn't figure out how to charge our credit card for parking, since we booked the hotel through Hotels.com. It delayed us by about 15 minutes while checking out -- a minor inconvenience, but one that I noted as otherwise the review would have been higher.

Really nice and reasonably priced boutique hotel
This was a really nice boutique hotel--just remodeled The rooms are quite roomy--unlike a lot of these smaller places. And the price was reasonable--at least for San Francisco. The area has a number of smaller restaurants and a few blocks away there's a Peet's and Starbucks, as well as a Walgreen's. If you reserve, be aware that rooms along the main street are a little noisy--ask for a city-view room-we moved and it was much quieter! The afternoon home-baked cookies were good; the morning pastries not so much--very small selection. The staff was really great--the guy at the front desk was very accommodating in helping us move rooms, given the noise in the original room.

Perfect!
It's cute, charming, and clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Parking is really easy. Great section of town. The price is right, too.

Nice room-bad linens-bad hospitality near Presidio
I chose this hotel because I needed to be in this location. It was just remodeled and the rooms are nicely decorated, pretty and practical bathrooms. I did not like the quality of the pillows or duvet. The worst thing is that I also picked it because they offer free continental breakfast, which is a timesaver…Well you CANNOT call that breakfast. Their breakfast consists of putting a few muffins and danish, coffee, cream, hot water for tea on a counter in the lobby. There is no sitting except 2 conversation areas in the lobby. There is no orange juice, milk (i asked) or anything else. I didn't expect a spread, but just putting a few pastries out is NOT breakfast. The reception people were never happily greeting anyone, the most pleasant was Jane at checkout (really appropriate and polite). Otherwise, when we were locked out of the room by an accidental issue, instead of looking for our reservation, the gentleman at the desk first said he would charge us the walk-in rate because Expedia had only given them a 1 night reservation, then said that the only other option would be for him to take out all our clothes and luggage out of the room. (when we didn't laugh, he said he was joking). Terrible hospitality. Nice room, bad linens. Also, they (and this is not the first hotel that does this) really seem to resent the fact we book through an Expedia company.
