Good value except for WiFi
The room was great, but the free WiFi was VERY limited.

next time we'll stay in low head instead
this hotel looked a lot better on paper. arriving there, we felt like we'd pulled up outside a raucous pub. granted, if was australia day, so maybe tatooed, drunk locals were to be expected. the (basic), motel-style room had a nice view of the river. unfortunately, this was obstructed by the caravans parked on the lawn. it seems there is a (unofficial?) camping ground right outside the hotel. there was no airconditioner, nor a fan, so on the hottest weekend this summer we left the windows open overnight, which meant that we got very little sleep, what with the campers, the locals, the teenagers, who's hangout seems to be the pier, after which this hotel is named and the truck, that was started right outside the back window at five o'clock in the morning. the restaurant had a nice view and the food was ok, although a bit overcooked. it would have been nice if the lady who checked us in had had time for a smile, but i got the impression that she was just very busy, not unfriendly. the waiter was nice. all in all: i think we paid too much for something rather basic.
