Great location and staff.
The service was amazing from the valet, front desk and the restaurants was top notch. The air conditioning in the room made the room uncomfortable at night. The bathroom was great.

Overnight in Winnipeg
Staff is amazing. Great bar and menu; however, the rooms are getting a little tired and we didn't have robes in our room as advertised. As others have said, it isn't a luxury Fairmont, but it is in a good location close to the Forks, ball park, beautiful river walk, and part of the tunnel system if you're there in the winter . I would stay there again.

Good 6.0
Fine, but Fairmont can and should do better
This hotel has a lot going for it—the downtown location, the rooftop indoor pool and gym, a better-than-average hotel restaurant and of course the Fairmont name—but it certainly doesn't hold up to other Fairmonts I've stayed in over the years. A couple of major issues: 1) The hotel needs a renovation: The furniture in my room was worn, and the shower head had come loose from its fitting in the wall in the bathroom. 2) The linens were rough and threadbare—adequate for a motel, but not for a "luxury" chain—and one of the pillows had an unpleasant smell. On the positive side, service for the most part was was friendly and courteous (particularly the valets), and, as already mentioned, the pool and health center on the top floor are quite nice.
