Avoid CURIA PALACE like the plague.
Got reassigned to their affiliate, Curia Palace, which was a DISASTER. Woefully understaffed. The chefs clearly came from cafeteria training and the food was inedible.

the restaurant service was Terrible. arrived at 8:00pm. Had resrrved seat, but waiter would not believe it, and had my wife and I wait until he confirmed it. Came back and seated us and left a menu and never came back until 8:20PM and asked if we wanted water. Yes we did, but he never waited to take our order. Returned and took our order @ 8:40pm, and we finally were served at 9:pm. This was one of many to Bussaco, and we were obviously a dissapointment. Room was.good as usual.

Disappointed, no value for money
Outdated, needs a lot of maintenance service, no elevator for elderly persons, no safety box,no available sockets. The place itself is beautiful, excellent breakfast You can stay in some hotels in the surrounding area and just visit the castle. One night is more that enough.

Worth stay a night
Good place stay a night. You can enjoy the beauty of the inside decoration only if you stay there. Way overpriced restaurant. Nothing around the hotel-you need a car or taxi.

Fabulous hotel
What a beautiful place to stay! Stunning palace with outstanding food! The furniture and fixtures in the room were a bit worn, but all period pieces originally put in the hotel. The staff were exceptionally helpful. There are many hiking trails and lovely grounds. Highly recommend, easy to get to.
